Summary Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se (1978)

A young man must deal with a broken engagement ceremony, while his to-be fiancée waits to be treated for blood cancer.

Arun is the son of Barrister Mahtur.Lily is the daughter of a Nurse Ruby who study in the same college.Arun is the leader of male students while Lily is the simple middle class girl.Arun who was a topper in college for long time is beaten by Lily in terminal examination which hurts his ego. Arun and Lily start to knowing each other an fall in love.Despite their different faith and status their marriage is approved by their parents.When all is going well Lily is diagnosed with Leukemia advanced stage of cancer.

Arun Mathur and his college sweetheart, Lily Fernandes, even though of different faiths, Hindu & Catholic respectively, are thrilled when their parents agree to the marriage. Ruby Fernandes welcomes Arun and encourages him to call her "mommy", while Arun's dad is already making preparations for the marriage. Then the doctor announces that Lily has blood cancer and may not have very long to live. She and her mom not only suppress this news from Arun, but also cancel the engagement ceremony. Arun's dad is shocked when Ruby informs him, and he and the doctor discuss various ways of getting her treated. One of them is to let a doctor from abroad examine Lilly. But will this doctor be able to reach Lily in time? and will Arun ever come to know of Lily's illness?
